So if there´s one thing I love in life, it´s sleep. I don´t feel like I sleep too much, but I really like to get 7-8 hours of sleep a night, and one of the things I love most about my life is being able to go to bed whenever I want and to get up whenever I want. I typically only have less than 20 days a year where I HAVE to get up at a certain time. Now I´m not a super late sleeper, I´d say on average I go to bed around midnight or 1 am and get up around 7-8 am, but sleep and being able to do it when I want is a perk of my life that I absolutely cherish.
Well sometimes even something so dear needs to be woken up in the name of art! About 2 weeks ago I got a phone call quite early in the morning from my friend Holly telling me how gorgeous it was outside and that I NEEDED to be out there with my camera (it probably wasn´t even that early, maybe just after 7, but I had been up late the night before, so it felt REALLY early). As much as I wanted to roll right back over and pretend I never answered my phone at that early hour, I instead heeded the call as any dedicated landscpae photographer would do and ended my peaceful slumber, and I´m soooo glad I did!!
I threw on some warm clothes and within 5 minutes was in my truck driving around looking for the light, and it was everywhere!!! I ended up shooting, hiking around, exploring, wallowing in the snow, and pondering that morning for almost 3 hours and had magical time. I made my way through Round Valley up into Pine Creek Canyon, and at every turn there was gorgeous light and fantastic clouds. So I wanted to share a few images from my morning out and encourage you to step out of your comfort zone every now and again, because you never know what glory might be waiting for you! Hope you´re having a wonderful day!!!
