After going several years without a trip to the ocean, I am so happy to have just spent some time on the coast. I got to explore from just north of Bodega Bay to up around Salt Point, and it was truly spectacular. I had explored the Jenner area before right at the outlet of the Russian River into the ocean, but never the areas just south and north from there.
There´s something really special about the ocean, it has a humbling presence that is hard to ignore. It makes me think of how connected we all are; to know how many people hundreds or thousands of miles away might be looking out over and appreciating the same ocean. Watching the waves come in and out makes me think of the rhythm and cycles of life, and the whole trip was quite reflective yet invigorating.
I may be a mountain man at heart, but a trip to the ocean is always so good for the soul :)
