When I was in Colorado, I decided to do a study in the aspens. To just immerse myself and try some new things, push myself, and get outside my comfort range. Typically when shooting landscapes, I use a smaller aperture in an effort to increase the depth of field; where typically when I shoot people I go for a larger aperture to lessen the depth of field and make the subjects pop. Well I decided to try that in the aspens, and had a blast. A lot of these images were shot at f 1.2, and it was really cool to play with the selective focus. I also tried to play around with some black and white conversions. I´ll be honest, I tend to see the world in color when shooting. So playing with the images later really allows me to "see" in a new way, and converting images to black and white is something that I´m really starting to enjoy. Do you have any favorites? What are your thoughts?
