My friend Will Jacks has a Gallery in Cleveland Mississippi that is hanging a few of my pieces, and he recently got a request to see a few more of my images from a series called "Above The Clouds" from a local patron. As I was going through the images to prepare for him, I came across a few that I really wanted to share with you.
Going back to these images was also very exciting because I looked at them with a fresh set of eyes; eyes that see potential for Black and Whites. I have only just recently acquired a vision for Black and Whites, and after years of shooting color only, I have a huge backlog of work that is potentially just waiting to be converted to Black and White. Some of these images that I already loved seemed to come to a whole new life by being converted to Black and White. What do you think? Do you have any favorites?

Andy Cornett: #5 is just magical. I loved these - took me right back to when I was 16 and on Longs Peak (CO) with some friends and had my first sunrise above the clouds. Brilliant stuff - than you for sharing your gift.

annie: I love the first one in black & white, that skinny little tree poking out from the clouds, seems so lonely, such a misfit. But the rays of light give so much warmth and hope. It's a moment captured perfectly. The one I voted for was 6. It made me feel like I could take a step and walk onto the clouds. It's like a dream. A child's dream. Beautiful work Shawn!
