Washington DC ~ Night Photography and Art Galleries

Monday, December 21st, 2009 at 6:50pm - Personal

The other night I had an incredible time wandering around Washington DC at night with fellow photographers Sarah Hodzic, Jessica Del Vecchio, and Kip Pierson.  We had fun all day going into the National Gallery of Art, the National Portrait Gallery, and having lunch and dinner at some fabulous DC restaurants. I rarely visit cities, so its always a fun adventure to explore a different way of life.

I also had a really special encounter that really made me feel so good.  I always get great joy out of bringing smiles to other people and making them feel good, so as we were wandering thru an outdoor open market, I caught glimpse of someone who I just though had the most beautiful energy.  Now I can actually be quite shy sometimes, so as much as I wanted to share with her how beautiful I found her, I started to walk up to her about 3 times before I gathered the courage to really do it.  So with nothing to loose, I approached her and told her that I found her beauty very striking, and that I hoped my comment would bring a smile to her day.  She was so sweet and very warm and receptive, and told me that my coming up to her made her day. I love moments like these.

Have you done anything lately to make someone smile and feel loved?  Its such a great feeling isn´t it?  Hope you´re having a wonderful evening!

These first images are from wandering around the city.

This next set of pictures is of an art piece in the National Portrait Gallery that changed colors every 15-20 seconds for an ever changing exploration of light.  So cool!!  There´s also my favorite painting from the National gallery and the National Portrait Gallery.
